Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Westwood, Massachusetts, the company completed its acquisition by affiliates of KKR for $1.3 billion at $127.50 per share in November 2023, transitioning to a privately held entity under KKR's North America Fund XIII and appointing Lance Reisman as Chairman of the Board of Directors; this followed its September 2022 purchase of NuCera Solutions for $250 million, which expanded its specialty polymers portfolio into personal care, polymer additives, coatings, and masterbatches while integrating into the adhesives, sealants, and additives unit.
